Brown Psychiatry announces 2022 Match Class

On March 18, the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior announced its newest cohort of Adult General Psychiatry and Triple Board residents. The trainees, from as near as the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and as far as San Diego Medical School, learned they would be joining the programs as part of the National Resident Matching Program's annual Match Day. Both programs filled all available residency positions, welcoming trainees who represent a broad diversity of backgrounds and interests.

In a highly competitive match year, the Adult General Psychiatry program garnered 1,117 applications for ten available positions.

"We are delighted to match with this accomplished and diverse group of ten residents,"  says Adult General Psychiatry Training Director Dr. Tracey Guthrie. "They hail from California, Georgia, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. Five of them hold master's or Ph.D degrees, in addition to their medical degree. Six of them are members of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society or the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and two are bilingual."

Brown's five-year Triple Board program, one of the first training programs in the nation to combine pediatrics, psychiatry, and child/adolescent psychiatry, received 120 applications for three available slots.

“We are very excited to have matched with such a talented group of medical students who already have an impressive list of accomplishments in research, education, and in advancing social justice,"  says Triple Board Program Director Dr. Jeffrey Hunt.

Brown's newest psychiatry residents, listed below, will join their programs in June.
