Brown Psychiatry Announces 2023 Match Class of General Psychiatry and Triple Board Residents

The Brown University Department of Psychiatry & Human Behavior announced that 13 medical students from across the country will be joining its psychiatry residency programs in June. The announcement was made on March 17, the National Resident Matching Program's annual Match Day, when fourth-year medical students learn which residency programs they matched with based on a mutual ranking system.

Ten of the newly matched trainees will enter Brown's Adult General Psychiatry Residency, which offers training opportunities across seven sites that serve diverse populations.

“We are extremely delighted to match with this accomplished group of ten residents. We cannot wait to welcome them to Brown!” said Adult General Psychiatry Training Director Dr. Tracey Guthrie. "They will be joining us from Georgia, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. Four of them have Ph.D. degrees, in addition to their medical degree. In this group are members of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.”

The other three matched trainees will join Brown's Triple Board Residency in Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Over the course of five years, the program trains residents in all three specialities (for which they are board-eligible), as well as in the integration of those fields.

"We are very excited about our incoming Triple Board residents!" said Triple Board Program Training Director Dr. Jeffrey Hunt. "They all have stellar academic backgrounds and have numerous passions within medicine and in the community. We look forward to having them join us in late June."

Congratulations to the newest cohorts of Brown psychiatry residents!
