The Brown Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior announced that 13 medical students from across the country will be joining its psychiatry residency programs in June. The students were matched on March 21 through the National Resident Matching Program, which is based on a mutual ranking system.
Ten of the newly matched trainees will enter Brown's General Psychiatry Residency.
"We are delighted to match with this accomplished group of ten residents," said Laura Whiteley, M.D., training director of the General Psychiatry Residency. "They will be joining us from Connecticut, Nebraska, New Jersey, West Virginia, Ohio, and Vermont. This group includes members of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and the Medical Scientist PhD Training Program. We are so excited to welcome them in person this June!"
The other three matched trainees will join Brown's Triple Board Residency in Pediatrics, Psychiatry, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
