
Timothy Owens, LMHC, MA
Biography
Timothy Owens is a Licensed Mental Health Clinician who is currently employed by Rhode Island Hospital and is the Brown University Health - Behavioral Health Team’s Program Director at the Rhode Island Training School (RITS) Rhode Island’s only juvenile correctional facility. He has been working at the RITS-YDC for over 10 years and currently oversees the assessment and treatment for all youth at the facility. In addition to his work at the RITS, Mr. Owens also provides individual outpatient treatment for patients with cooccurring substance abuse and mental health related issues, conducts clinical assessments and provides short-term bridge therapy for children and adolescents who are having acute mental health problems, and is a Senior Teaching Associate in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. Mr. Owens earned his Master’s degree in 2011 in Forensic Psychology from Roger Williams University and his Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Sociology in 2007 from the University of Rhode Island.
