Brown Psychiatry and Human Behavior Announces 2022 Mind Brain Research Day Academic Presentation Winners

The winners presented their research during the 24th annual event on March 30. 

PSYCHOLOGY RESIDENTS

First place: Sarah Owens, M.A., "Characterizing Menstrual Cycle Influences on Social Processes, Suicidal Ideation, and Behavior in Adolescents with Past-Year Suicidal Ideation"
Second place: Madeline Benz, M.S., "Complex polypharmacy among patients with Major Depressive Disorder and co-occurring Substance Use Disorders in a psychiatric hospital setting: Prevalence and risk factors"

POSTDOCS

First place: Jenna Blujus, Ph.D., "Posterior hippocampal redundancy is smaller among nondemented older adults with beta-amyloid deposition"
Second place: Arryn Guy, Ph.D., "Transgender and gender diverse adults’ reflections on alcohol counseling and recommendations for providers"
Second place: Jennifer Warnick, Ph.D., "Formative development of a weight management program for adolescents with comorbid type 1 diabetes mellitus and overweight/obesity"

PSYCHIATRY TRAINEES

First place: Matthew Howe, M.D., Ph.D., "Neuroimaging biomarkers of cerebrovascular disease predict cerebral amyloidosis across the spectrum of Alzheimer’s disease (on Behalf of the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative)"
Second place: Elizabeth Olsen, M.D., "The Role of Family Factors in the Outcomes of Court-Involved Youth"
