Assistant Professor Tanuja Gandhi, M.D., has recently received multiple honors from the American Psychiatric Association (APA):
- She was appointed chair of the APA's National Membership Committee, which guides the organization's recruitment and retention activities, after serving as a member of the committee over the past year.
- An elected member of the APA Assembly, Gandhi was awarded the Assembly Resident Fellow Member Mentor Award for mentoring residents and fellows in psychiatry. She has served as an elected member of the assembly for the past two years.
"I became an APA member early in my residency training and have been actively involved in the work of the APA since then," Gandhi said. "The APA is my professional home and being involved in the APA has been instrumental to my growth as a clinician, doctor and strong advocate for my patients and profession."
Gandhi is also a president of the Rhode Island Psychiatric Society, a district branch of the APA.
