Carmen Monzon, MD
Biography
Dr. Monzon is a psychiatrist in Women’s Behavioral Medicine at the Women’s Medicine Collaborative. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Dr. Monzon received her medical degree from National University Pedro Henriquez Ureña in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and completed a psychiatry residency at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Monzon is board certified in General Psychiatry and in Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry by the ABPN. She is a 2013, 2014, and 2016 recipient of the Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award at Alpert Medical School at Brown University. She has been recognized as a Top Doc for women in 2007 and 2009 and Top Doc in Psychiatry in 2017 and 2018 in Rhode Island Magazine. Dr. Monzon is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the North American Society for Psychosocial Obstetrics and Gynecology, Marcé Society of North America, Rhode Island Medical Society, and the Rhode Island Psychiatric Society. Her clinical interests include perinatal psychiatry, GYN oncology, and consultation-liaison psychiatry, particularly in OB-GYN inpatient settings. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
