Grace Smith, M.A.
Biography
Grace Smith is a qualitative data analyst with Advance Clinical and Translational Research (Advance-CTR), which supports health researchers across Rhode Island. She completed a bachelor’s in neuroscience at Duke University and a master’s in the Social Foundations of Health at Vanderbilt University’s Department of Medicine, Health, and Society. At Advance-CTR, Grace works with both the Biomedical Informatics, Bioinformatics, and Cyberinfrastructure Enhancement (BIBCE) Core, supporting BRIDGE’s Dr. Rani Elwy on qualitative implementation science work, and the Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Research Design (BERD) Core, working with Dr. Rochelle Rosen to assist qualitative researchers via consultations and longer-term support. She is passionate about seeking to understand healthcare, mental healthcare, and related topics as situated within their institutional and local contexts, and about the conceptual complexities that qualitative methods allow for in this sense. In her role, Grace is grateful for the opportunity to work alongside a variety of inspiring researchers exploring and addressing a range of healthcare issues in Rhode Island, such as racial equity in COVID-19 intervention access and interdisciplinarity in Parkinson’s Disease care.
Grace has gone on to enter the PhD program in the History of Science at Princeton University.
