Ashley Martinez, M.D.

Biography

Dr. Ashley Martinez was born and raised in Laredo, Texas. She attended Brown University through the Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME), a combined eight-year program where she earned her degree in Cognitive Neuroscience. She was the recipient of the 2020 Christopher Benedick, MD, Child Psychiatry Award. Ashley decided to pursue combined training in pediatrics, adult and child psychiatry through Brown's Triple Board residency program. During training, Ashley received several teaching awards including the Positive Champion of the Learning Environment Award, Dean's Excellence in Teaching Award, and Doctoring Year II Community Mentor Award. She also served as a mentor for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund's 2023 Healthcare Summit in Los Angeles, California. Ashley spearheaded a research project to increase access to formally translated pediatric Spanish discharge instruction templates. After 13 years (and a lot of training) in Rhode Island, Ashley is excited to be returning to her home state of Texas where she will be working as both a pediatrician and child psychiatrist at Christus Children's/Baylor College of Medicine in San Antonio. A big thanks to her mentors, co-residents, and family for all the support they have provided over the years. A special shoutout to Dennisse and her couch, Missy and her candy bowl, and Tatiana and her secret latte recipe for making the more challenging moments of residency a little bit brighter!
