Hyungjin Tom Kim, M.D.
Biography
Dr. Hyungjin "Tom" Kim completed psychiatry residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where he graduated with the APA Resident Recognition Award. He received his medical degree from New York Medical College with a concentration in medical education and was elected as a member of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Prior to his medical training, he was awarded the Rotary Global Grant Fellowship to earn his Master's in Global Mental Health from King’s College London to learn about the intersection of culture, policy, economics, and mental health. At Brown, he served as the chief resident for the Brown NIMH R-25 Research Training Program, where he studied the integration of virtual reality and AI into treatment and clinical assessment for children and adolescents. After graduation, he will be joining the faculty at UCSF as an Assistant Professor and a member of the outpatient child psychiatry team. Tom would like to thank his mentors, supervisors, colleagues, and friends at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Bradley Hospital for an amazing two years. He also wishes to thank his fiancé, Amber, as well as his family, friends, and co-fellows for their support and encouragement throughout his medical training.
