
Jennifer Sofia Schild
Biography
Jennifer Schild graduated cum laude from New York University in 2017 with a B.S. in applied psychology and minors in English and creative writing. While at NYU, Jennifer completed an internship at a private psychology practice specializing in child anxiety and behavior disorders. Following graduation, Jennifer served as a research assistant at the Center for Youth Mental Health and the Pediatric OCD, Anxiety, and Tic Disorders Program at Weill Cornell Medicine/ New York Presbyterian Hospital (WCM/NYP). She then began her doctoral training in clinical psychology at Suffolk University in Boston under the mentorship of Dr. David Langer where she further developed and pursued her interest in promoting individualized treatment and positive outcomes for youth anxiety disorders through collaborative treatment planning approaches. Her dissertation research supported the development and evaluation of a decision aid tool for facilitating shared decision-making in treatment planning for youth with selective mutism and their parents. Jennifer began her clinical psychology pre-doctoral internship at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in 2024 with research mentorship from Dr. Erin O’Connor and Dr. Jennifer Freeman in the Pediatric Anxiety Research Center (PARC). After completing internship, Jennifer will return to the Center for Youth Mental Health at WCM/NYP as a postdoctoral fellow. Jennifer is grateful for the support she has received from her many mentors over the course of her training and from her family, friends, and colleagues.
