Jennifer Y. Kim, JD, MD
Biography
Jennifer Young Kim received her B.A. in Biology and English from the University of Rochester in 2003, and her J.D. from Pace University School of Law in 2006, concentrating in environmental and health law and policy. After practicing for a few years, she enrolled in the Global Scholars Program at St. George's University School of Medicine and received her medical degree in 2015. She then furthered her interest in healthcare administration and risk analysis, and she received her M.S. in Healthcare Management from the University of Rochester Simon School of Business in 2016. She completed her residency at SBH Health System in Bronx, New York, and served as Chief Resident. During residency, she was involved in many community educational programs, promoting funding for mental health services and destigmatizing mental illness in minority groups. She also continues to serve on the Board of Directors at Outreach Development Corporation. After fellowship, she plans to join the Forensic Department, working with fellows and residents and treating patients at Rhode Island State Psychiatric Hospital. She would like to thank Dr. Wall and Dr. Lee, her co-fellow, Dr. Ugorji, and the incredible mentors and educators throughout her training for their valuable teaching and guidance and for fostering her passion in forensic psychiatry and advocacy. She would also like to express the greatest gratitude to her friends and family, especially to her parents, Sang Myung and Seung Sook, and her husband, Griffin, for all their love and unwavering support throughout the years.
