Jill R. Laquidara
Biography
Jill Laquidara is an Adult Track pre-doctoral clinical psychology resident at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Prior to internship at Brown, Jill was in Cleveland, Ohio working towards her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Case Western Reserve University. Jill has a particular interest in both research and clinical intervention aimed at improving quality of life for individuals with schizophrenia spectrum disorders. While at Case Western, she conducted research examining various potential treatment targets and elements of care for individuals with schizophrenia spectrum and other serious mental health diagnoses. Jill’s work was supported by grant funding through the Freedman Fellowship Program at Case Western, and her research was recognized through Case Western’s Joseph F. Fagan Award for Research Excellence in 2023 and the Morris Parloff Award for Outstanding Contribution to Clinical Research in 2024. During her pre-doctoral internship at Brown, Jill had the chance to hone her clinical skills in inpatient, intensive outpatient, and behavioral medicine settings. She also had the opportunity to work with Dr. Lauren Weinstock conducting a secondary analysis, expanding her understanding of the intersection between mental health treatment engagement, suicide risk, and legal system involvement. Next, Jill will be starting a postdoctoral position at the Ohio State University’s Early Psychosis Intervention Center. Jill is grateful to her many mentors, colleagues, friends, and family members for their support and encouragement along the way! Jill extends a special appreciation to her husband who has supported her in the long journey to becoming a psychologist.
