Ky Van Vuong, Psy.D.

Biography

Van Vuong, Psy.D. (Rhode Island Hospital, 8/4/25-8/21/26) earned his Psy.D. in clinical psychology and M.S. in counseling psychology from Chaminade University of Honolulu, Hawaii. He completed his clinical psychology pre-doctoral internship at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Center in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to fellowship, Dr. Vuong worked as a licensed psychologist in the United States Air Force, providing care across substance use, integrated primary care, forensic psychology, and disaster mental health settings. He worked within multidisciplinary teams to support children and families and, after several years in practice, returned to training to further specialize in pediatric integrated behavioral health. During his postdoctoral fellowship at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Dr. Vuong provided integrated behavioral health services in pediatric primary care, using brief, evidence-based approaches and collaborating closely with medical teams to improve access and coordination of care. His clinical interests include transdiagnostic treatment and reducing barriers to care. He was also involved in quality improvement efforts focused on strengthening behavioral health integration and improving clinic workflows to better support patient access. Following fellowship, Dr. Vuong will return to the United States Air Force to continue his work as a child psychologist serving pediatric populations and military families. He is grateful for the mentorship and support of his supervisors, colleagues, family, and friends, and for the opportunity to experience New England, including its many dim sum and pizza spots.
