Meaghan Lea Delcourt
Biography
Meaghan Delcourt graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maine in 2018 as a double major in psychology and sociology with a neuroscience minor. At UMaine, she worked with Dr. Emily Haigh and received numerous institutional awards related to her research on stress reactivity. Meaghan then joined the Pittsburgh Girls Study as a research associate, where her passion for reproductive behavioral health started. In 2020, Meaghan joined the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program at the University of Connecticut, advised by Dr. Dean Cruess. During her graduate studies, Meaghan was awarded three internal grants which funded her dissertation project examining psychophysiological responses to sad mood across the menstrual cycle. She also fulfilled teaching and leadership roles in her department and a yearlong practicum in gynecology to augment her competencies in reproductive health. Currently, Meaghan is completing her clinical psychology pre-doctoral internship in the Behavioral Medicine Track at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. At Brown, Meaghan has been fortunate to work with Dr. Jessica Peters and expand her research on how cyclical ovarian hormone change impacts mental and physical health. Meaghan was awarded a seed grant through Brown’s training program which enabled her to complete advanced statistics training and implement a project investigating dimensions of pain flux across the menstrual cycle. Next year, Meaghan will be returning to Connecticut as a postdoctoral fellow in Perinatal/Women’s Health Psychology at the Institute of Living/Hartford Hospital. Meaghan extends enormous thanks to her family, friends, mentors, and colleagues for all their support and wisdom.
