Micah Benjamin Duggins-Warf, M.D.
Biography
Dr. Micah Duggins-Warf graduated from Houghton College in 2010 with degrees in Classical Guitar Performance and Philosophy. He stayed for another year and briefly pursued a master’s degree in Music Theory before deciding that it might be more fun to marry his partner, Birch, whom he met in undergrad, and ship off to Boston (and it was). He found a job at a community mental health center in Waltham where he realized that he really liked psychiatry and wanted to be a doctor when he grew up. After a long road to and through Eastern Virginia Medical School, Micah was delighted to match at Brown for General Psychiatry residency, and was a Chief Resident during his final year of training. Micah stayed at Brown to pursue a Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship, which he maintains is one of the best decisions he has ever made, for many reasons. He has enjoyed the multitude of forensic settings in which he has had the privilege to work, the collegiality, support, and mentorship of the numerous wonderful faculty members and program leadership, and his brilliant and endlessly entertaining co-fellows. While not eager to leave all of this awesomeness, he is nonetheless excited to be moving on to a hybrid inpatient forensic and correctional psychiatry position at Bridgewater State Hospital in Massachusetts. He wishes to thank his family (Birch, Nevvie, Alexa, and Jolene) for being the sparkling center of his joyous world, and for putting up with all of his shenanigans.
