
Natalie Fettinger, M.D.
Biography
Dr. Natalie Fettinger is a graduate of the University of California - San Diego School of Medicine and also attended UC San Diego for her residency in General Adult Psychiatry. She is originally from Hemlock, Michigan, and attended the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, where she received bachelor degrees in Psychology and Cellular & Molecular Biology. During her studies, she has been involved in global health projects with the International Women and Infant Sustainable Healthcare Foundation. For her work in Haiti in medical school, she received the Lola Romanucci-Ross and John Ross Jr. Award in Medical Anthropology. Also during medical school, she served as a general and neurology manager at the UCSD Student Run Free Clinic. During residency, Dr. Fettinger was awarded the Gold Humanism Award in Teaching and was inducted into the society. She has an interest in autism spectrum disorders, catatonia, early childhood trauma and neglect, expanding access to electroconvulsive therapy in pediatric populations, and global mental health. Dr. Fettinger would like to thank her mentors, colleagues, family, and friends for their support and encouragement throughout medical school, residency, and fellowship. Dr. Fettinger is incredibly grateful for Dr. Elizabeth Wheeler’s influential and sagacious mentorship, as well as the exceptional training she received in fellowship at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Upon completion of fellowship, Dr. Fettinger will be joining the faculty at Pine Rest CMHS based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to serve as an attending psychiatrist on the new Pediatric Center for Behavioral Health inpatient units.
