Patricia Marie Garibaldi
Biography
Patricia Garibaldi graduated from Boston College with a B.A. in psychology in 2016. Following graduation, Patricia worked as a research assistant at the Harvard University Lab for Youth Mental Health under the mentorship of Dr. John Weisz contributing to research examining the effectiveness of a modular, transdiagnostic CBT. She then worked as a milieu therapist at the McLean-Franciscan Community Based Acute Treatment (CBAT) providing care to youth with complex psychiatric needs at the intersection of multiple systems. In 2020, she joined the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program where she was mentored by Drs. Cassandra Kisiel and Neil Jordan. Her research program and dissertation focused on the implementation of trauma-informed practices and staff training at Illinois Child Welfare Residential Treatment Centers. During her clinical psychology pre-doctoral internship at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University (Child Track), Patricia received training in a range of clinical settings with a focus on acute care under the mentorship of several exceptional supervisors including Drs. Katelyn Affleck, Erik Hood, and Jamie Hollenbeck. She also continued to research evidence-based, trauma-informed practices at higher levels of care under the mentorship of Drs. Jen Wolff and Katherine Tezanos. Patricia is excited to return to Chicago where she will complete her postdoctoral fellowship at Lurie Children’s Hospital Suicide Prevention and Research Collaborative (L-SPARC). Patricia extends her immense gratitude to the numerous mentors, supervisors, and peers who have deeply enriched her training and to her parents, brother, and husband for their love and support.
