Tram Nguyen Doran
Biography
Tram Nguyen Doran graduated summa cum laude from Liberty University with a B.S. in psychology and earned her M.A. in psychological science from The Catholic University of America. She is currently completing her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Mississippi State University under the mentorship of Dr. Cliff McKinney. Her research focuses on trauma, interpersonal functioning, and emotion regulation, particularly among minority and low-income youth, including work on parent-child relationships, maltreatment, and empathy in relation to psychological outcomes. Tram has gained clinical experience across inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings, working with children, adolescents, and families. Her clinical work emphasizes trauma, anxiety, and behavioral health concerns in underserved populations. She is currently completing her pre-doctoral clinical psychology internship at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, training at Bradley Hospital, where she provides evidence-based treatment for youth with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and related conditions using exposure-based and DBT-informed approaches. She also collaborates with Dr. Sarah Thomas in the Teen Decision-Making Lab on adolescent decision-making and substance use. Following internship, Tram will join the Child and Adolescent Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. She has received multiple honors for academic and teaching excellence, including the Graduate Excellence Award in Teaching and recognition from Psi Chi. Tram is deeply grateful to her clinical supervisors and research mentors for their guidance and support, and she thanks her colleagues, friends, and family for their continued encouragement.
