Biography
Zoë M. Trout, Psy.D. (Providence VA Medical Center, 9/3/24-9/2/25) earned a dual degree in psychology and English literature from the College of William and Mary in 2015 and completed her Psy.D. at Baylor University under the mentorship of Dr. Thomas Fergus in 2024. During her graduate studies, Zoë developed particular interests in implementing transdiagnostic treatment approaches and working with trauma-affected populations. Her dissertation focused on self-disgust, a transdiagnostic construct relevant to PTSD and a wide range of other mental health concerns. Zoë completed her clinical psychology pre-doctoral internship at the Central Western Massachusetts VA Medical Center, where her training focused on women’s health and military sexual trauma, PTSD treatment, and outpatient therapy in a general mental health clinic. She is currently completing her postdoctoral fellowship in the Clinical Psychology Program at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, working in the Post Deployment and Readjustment Clinic at the Providence VA Medical Center. Through this fellowship, Zoë is advancing her work providing trauma-informed care, PTSD treatment, and transdiagnostic interventions and furthering her research on self-disgust. Specifically, she is implementing a study examining the relations between self-disgust, PTSD, and sexual trauma at the Providence VA with the help and supervision of Dr. Amanda Arulpragasam. Zoë is deeply grateful to her current clinical supervisors, Drs. Lauren Reeves and Laura Fabricant, all of the supervisors and mentors that have supported and shaped her career, and the family and friends whose unwavering love and encouragement have made all of her accomplishments possible.
