BRIDGE trainings offer a balanced mix of presentations and group activities. This photo shows a lecture being delivered to the whole group, highlighting key concepts and encouraging thoughtful discussion.

Here, participants collaborate around the table, sharing ideas and exploring concepts in a more intimate setting. Much of the time is dedicated to these smaller, focused discussions.

Participants bring their own projects to work on during small group sessions. This interactive format allows for focused feedback and collaboration, helping everyone make real progress on their research and professional goals.

What do we offer?

The BRIDGE program offers two different implementation science trainings:

  1. The Foundational Implementation Science Bootcamp
  2. The Advanced Implementation Methods Workshop

Both trainings are paid, multi-day, in-person workshops that prioritize interactive activities and engagement with implementation science experts. These trainings:

  • Are facilitated by the BRIDGE Program's team of implementation science experts, including the BRIDGE leadership (Executive Director, Dr. Rani Elwy; Program Director, Dr. Hannah Frank; & Training Director, Dr. Ruben Martinez)
  • Include meals, light refreshments, and a Google Drive folder of resources
  • Allow you to get two 30-minute 1:1 virtual booster sessions with one of our BRIDGE experts (if you attend both, you can get 4 consultations)

Our next training will be the Foundational Implementation Science Bootcamp from February 25 - 27, 2026.

Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) Science focuses on how evidence-based interventions can be effectively adopted and maintained in healthcare and communities. As medical professionals are increasingly required to meet performance benchmarks for evidence-based practices, and researchers must show public health impact, D&I Science can help empower clinicians and scientists to:

  • Enhance the relevance and impact of research careers
  • Interface closely with healthcare leaders and staff as partners, breaking down the research-practice divide in order to achieve the ultimate goal: to increase the public health impact of evidence-based innovation
  • Integrate methodologies into clinical trial designs and speed the development of evidence-based interventions that have demonstrable public health impact

Foundational Implementation Science Bootcamp

Boost Impact. Drive Adoption.

The Foundational Implementation Science Bootcamp provides a foundation in implementation science theories, models, and frameworks.

After this training, attendees will be able to:

  • Describe the gap between research evidence and clinical practice in health care.
  • Gain core knowledge of implementation science designs and outcomes for evaluating evidence-based practices.
  • Understand key activities across pre-implementation, implementation, and sustainment phases.
  • Explain how implementation science and quality improvement together address health care gaps.

The next in-person Foundational Implementation Science Bootcamp will be held on February 25 -27, 2026 in Providence, RI.

This bootcamp is designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, psychologists, pharmacists, physical therapists, social workers, physical therapists, residents, fellows, medical students, and graduate students of all specialties in social science fields.

While many of the attendees are researchers, this bootcamp is also designed to be useful for people interested in implementation practice as well.

Advanced Implementation Methods Workshop

Building on the skills from the Foundational Implementation Science Bootcamp, the hands-on Advanced Implementation Methods Workshop offers a deep dive into advanced implementation methods through interactive, case-based learning led by expert implementation scientists.

Participants will:

  • Use tools like process mapping to identify barriers and facilitators to implementing evidence-based practices
  • Collaborate with community partners to prioritize challenges
  • Design tailored implementation strategies using causal pathway diagrams
  • Create materials to apply qualitative methods to real-world implementation questions

This immersive experience equips participants with practical tools to tackle complex implementation challenges and fosters meaningful collaboration with peers and experts.

New to Implementation Science?
If you're planning to attend the Advanced Implementation Methods Workshop but have limited experience with implementation science, we strongly recommend also registering for the Foundational Bootcamp, held earlier in the same week. This will help you get the most out of the training.

Prefer a quicker prep?
You can opt to watch an overview video and read a few key articles instead. If you choose this option, we’ll email the materials after you register.

Testimonials

“ The entire BRIDGE team is so engaging and passionate. It was a lot of material but I felt like I was fully invested because this team loves what they do. Thank you for bringing that positive energy into the learning space. ”

July 2024 attendee

“ I loved the small group work and opportunities to brainstorm with peers and experts. ”

March 2025 Attendee

“ [Dr. Frank] made an effort to help me brainstorm around some specific details of my project. Often, these types of educational sessions end up being too broad, but she made the concepts feel very personalized and relevant to my work. I felt I was able to put the general knowledge I gained about models and theory into practice. ”
