BRIDGE trainings offer a balanced mix of presentations and group activities. This photo shows a lecture being delivered to the whole group, highlighting key concepts and encouraging thoughtful discussion.

Here, participants collaborate around the table, sharing ideas and exploring concepts in a more intimate setting. Much of the time is dedicated to these smaller, focused discussions.

Participants bring their own projects to work on during small group sessions. This interactive format allows for focused feedback and collaboration, helping everyone make real progress on their research and professional goals.

What do we offer?

The BRIDGE program offers two different implementation science trainings:

  1. The Foundational Implementation Science Bootcamp
  2. The Advanced Implementation Methods Workshop

Both trainings are paid, multi-day, in-person workshops that prioritize interactive activities and engagement with implementation science experts. These trainings:

  • Are facilitated by the BRIDGE Program's team of implementation science experts, including its Acting Directors, Drs. Frank & Martinez
  • Include meals, light refreshments, and a Google Drive folder of resources
  • Allow you to get two 30-minute 1:1 virtual booster sessions with one of our BRIDGE experts for up to one year after attendance (if you attend both, you can get 4 consultations)

You have the option to take just one or to take both. The trainings are designed to complement each other, and since they occur in the same week, you can seamlessly attend the bootcamp followed by the workshop.

Dissemination and Implementation (D&I) Science focuses on how evidence-based interventions can be effectively adopted and maintained in healthcare and communities. As medical professionals are increasingly required to meet performance benchmarks for evidence-based practices, and researchers must show public health impact, D&I Science can help empower clinicians and scientists to:

  • Enhance the relevance and impact of research careers
  • Interface closely with healthcare leaders and staff as partners, breaking down the research-practice divide in order to achieve the ultimate goal: to increase the public health impact of evidence-based innovation
  • Integrate methodologies into clinical trial designs and speed the development of evidence-based interventions that have demonstrable public health impact

Foundational Implementation Science Bootcamp

The Foundational Implementation Science Bootcamp provides a foundation on implementation science theories, models, and frameworks.

After the Foundational Implementation Science Bootcamp, attendees will be able to:

  • Characterize the evidence-to-practice gap in medical and health-related fields
  • Develop foundational knowledge of implementation science study designs and outcomes to be used when assessing the implementation of an evidence-based practice
  • Understand activities in pre-implementation, implementation and sustainment phases required for moving evidence into practice
  • Demonstrate the link between implementation science and quality improvement and how both can be used to address critical health care gaps

The next Foundational Implementation Science Bootcamp will be held from July 14 to 16, 2025 in Providence, RI.

This bootcamp is designed for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, psychologists, pharmacists, physical therapists, social workers, physical therapists, residents, fellows, medical students, and graduate students of all specialties in social science fields.

While many of the attendees are researchers, this bootcamp is also designed to be useful for people interested in implementation practice as well.

Advanced Implementation Methods Workshop

The Advanced Implementation Methods Workshop builds on the skills learned during Foundational Implementation Science Bootcamp. This workshop provides participants with an in-depth, hands-on opportunity to “test-drive” implementation methods.

Through an interactive, case-study-based format, expert implementation scientists will guide participants in:

  • Identifying barriers (factors which limit or prevent the use of a treatment or practice) and facilitators (factors which increase or support the use of a treatment or practice) to implement evidence-based practices using tools like process mapping
  • Engaging community partners to collaboratively prioritize barriers
  • Developing implementation strategies using methods such as causal pathway diagrams.
  • Developing materials for applying qualitative methods to implementation science research questions

This immersive experience will equip participants with practical tools and strategies to address real-world implementation challenges while fostering collaboration with leading experts and peers.

The next workshop will take place on July 17 and July 18, 2025 in Providence, RI.

If you are interested in registering for the Advanced Implementation Methods Workshop and do not have some implementation science experience or prior exposure to implementation science didactics, we strongly recommend that you also register for the Foundational Bootcamp, which will take place the same week. This will better ensure you receive the full benefit of this training.

However, you may opt to watch  a 1-hour didactics overview video and read 2-3 foundational articles prior to the Advanced Implementation Methods Workshop instead. If you select this option, we will email you the required materials after you complete your order.

Testimonials

“ The entire BRIDGE team is so engaging and passionate. It was a lot of material but I felt like I was fully invested because this team loves what they do. Thank you for bringing that positive energy into the learning space. ”

July 2024 attendee

“ I loved the small group work and opportunities to brainstorm with peers and experts. ”

March 2025 Attendee

“ Hannah made an effort to help me brainstorm around some specific details of my project. Often, these types of educational sessions end up being too broad, but she made the concepts feel very personalized and relevant to my work. I felt I was able to put the general knowledge I gained about models and theory into practice. ”
